STRONGER NURES, HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES, A BRIGHTER AFRICA
Faith In Action.
Nurses Equipped.
Lives Served.
African Nursing Alliance (ANA) is a faith-guided nonprofit that equips nurses through education, professional development, and leadership support to improve the quality of care in Sierra Leone and across Africa.

Why ANA Exists
Across the African Region, more than 178,000 mothers and over 1 million newborns die each year.
Many families face limited access to skilled healthcare professionals during pregnancy, childbirth, and the first days of life. Nurses and midwives are often among the first, and most important, people available to provide care, recognize danger signs, and connect families with emergency support. African Nursing Alliance is committed to helping prepare healthcare professionals who can serve with knowledge, skill, compassion, and integrity.

What We Do
VISION TAKING HOLD
ANA is working to expand access to quality healthcare by building a nursing education and training center in Sierra Leone, with plans to extend its work to other African countries. Guided by a spirit of service and the belief that every life deserves competent and compassionate care, the center will support nurse educators and future nurses through education, professional development, and practical training. By investing in nurses locally, ANA is helping build a stronger healthcare workforce and creating opportunities for skilled care to reach more families.

MEET OUR FOUNDER
For Mariatu Kargbo,
this calling is personal.
Born in Sierra Leone, Mariatu is a nurse practitioner and educator whose life has been shaped by faith, education, and service. When she returned to Freetown in 2024, she was reminded of the need to strengthen nursing education and support healthcare professionals. By God’s grace, that renewed conviction became the foundation for African Nursing Alliance.
"I believe education is one of the ways God equips people, strengthens communities, and opens doors to a healthier future"
